The West is the Best

So we're still unpacking, organizing, and generally drowning in boxes, paper, and used tape. Fortunately, half our day is spent outside in the most beautiful place on Earth. I woke up this morning really wanting to go for a mountain bike ride but didn't really feel tackling Hartman's Rocks on my own without a map. I spent the morning organizing my garage and while I was out there our neighbors Tim and Ann asked if I wanted to join them for an afternoon ride in Hartman's. Obvious answer... We piled into Ann's truck and drove down to Gunnison and headed out into the sage around 2. We got in a coulple of hours of awesome singletrack and really wild slickrock sections. Hartman's is huge and very Moab like in a lot of places.

The terrain and lack of vegetation looks alot like SoCA or Arizona. Perhaps the pictures were a limited view of what was out there but it looked less technical than Nepaug. IOW, maybe Pulver could be OK with the hard tail.

Definitely pretty country. Glad you're getting some riding in among the boxes.

I don't know Ben, that terrain looks pretty sweet for a MTB ride. So you have any guest rooms in that new house of yours? How much you charge for a guided MTB tours. It's been raining here for freaking days I can't stand it. I think I'm skipping this weekends racing. I can't trash our MTB bikes for a third time. The last two races generated $400 worth of junk parts and hours of labor. Let me know when your hiring for your new company or need website work :-0
Be cool.
